Who we are

The WSC website is maintained by one person, Martin Eagle.

Our website address is https://matt2819.com/wsc.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect no personal data from visitors to the site, however, anyone requesting to be added to a mailing list will have their name, email address, and their mailing list preferences stored until such time as they remove themselves from the list or lists.

If you submit a subscription form on the site you will be opting in for WSC to save your name, email address, and other relevant information. These subscriptions are used to notify you about related content and updates.

You can opt-out or unsubscribe at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any email.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, WSC collects the data shown in the comments form and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

WSC may keep contact form submissions indefinitely for customer service purposes but will never use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes. No information whatsoever is shared with other parties.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on the WSC site you can opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, WSC will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, WSC will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

In an attempt to make the user experience more pleasant while still delivering time-sensitive messaging, WSC uses anonymous cookies to prevent users from seeing any popup repetitively. WSC does not currently use automatically triggered popups.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

Zotabox provides the contact form and might use analytics. Their privacy policy is at https://info.zotabox.com/gdpr-data-processing-agreement/.

Who we share your data with

Information collected through contact forms or subscription forms is kept securely within encrypted databases and used solely for the purpose of contacting you via newsletter or other mailout or notification.

Currently, WSC uses MailMunch and MailerLite for subscriptions. Your data is retained within those databases until you unsubscribe or WSC deletes the information.

CognitoForms is used for submissions made on the “Love it!!” and “Written Permission” pages. Your data is retained within those databases until it’s manually deleted. You may request its deletion at any time via the “Contact WSC” feature at the bottom of every page. CognitoForms Privacy Policy is located at https://www.cognitoforms.com/legal/privacy.

How long WSC retains your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so WSC can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on the site (if any), WSC also stores the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, have subscribed to either of our two mailing list groups, have submitted information via a form (eg. the “Love it!!” page), or if you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data WSC holds about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that WSC erase any personal data held about you. This does not include any data WSC is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments might be checked through an automated spam detection service. Subscription form data is sent to our MailMunch and MailerLite accounts.

WSC contact information

For any privacy-specific questions or concerns, please send an email to the site administrator, Martin Eagle, at privacy@matt2819.com

Do you know the answer?

WSC Q. 105.
What do we pray for in the fifth request?

ANSWER
In the fifth request (which is, Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors) we pray that God, for Christ’s sake, would freely pardon all our sins; and we are encouraged to ask this because, by his grace, we are enabled from the heart to forgive others.
